Ferrari F40

Modelled this a year ago as a post-uni personal project, finally got around to converting into a Maya file and sorting out some renders.

Mars Project

Although the UDK church project is still on-going I have decided to start another project to work on in parallel. Also in UDK this project has a more focused end result than the the church which is still rather open ended.

The idea is to create a small UDK environment based on Mars, the scene will be very small with a cinematic sequence as the primary end result. I will be producing a small number of high detail objects for the scene with a focus on quality.

Here is an early screen shot of the Mars environment so far:

Build Update - Basic Layout / Lighting

Here are some screenshots of the level so far. I've laid out the props and built a basic BSP structure for the church. The most recent aspect of the project is the lighting. The updates to UDK allow for much more realistic sun systems which I wanted to experiment with, I've also created lights that project a texture to fake the stained glass on the floor.

Wall Material - Bump Offset

This is a material I've made for the walls of the church. It uses a bump-offset technique that uses a grey scale height map to fake the look of detailed geometry.

New UDK Project

Having the spent year on the MA 3D Computer Animation course at Swansea Met I haven't had much time to continue the Unreal Editor work I started on my BA Games Design course. Since completing the MA I've decided to start a personal project so I can get back into modelling and texturing for games.

Since the last time I developed anything for Unreal the editor has changed quite a bit, the UDK editing package is a fair bit more powerful than the Unreal editor I used on my degree.

The project I've decided to work on is fairly loose at the moment, the only solid aspect is that its based around a church. I want to use the project to push some techniques that I started developing at the end of my degree.

Essay over! Heres some of the assets I've created so far:
